To: All Presbyters and Board/Council Chairs of Pastoral Charges
From: Pat Steer, Chair of Halton Presbytery
Date: February 6, 2006
This brief notice is to let you know that work has now begun on the Feasibility Study for a possible Capital Appeal by Halton Presbytery of the United Church. The study is being conducted by Paul J. Mack and Associates of Burlington, Ontario, and was approved in principle by the Presbytery at its meeting of June 14, and further reviewed at its meeting of September 27.
The Presbytery is very pleased to have in its service the experience and vision of the Paul J. Mack fund-raising firm to conduct the study.
To our joy and gratitude, a major portion of the expenses ($31,000) of the Feasibility Study are being underwritten by generous and anonymous donors. We sincerely thank these persons for their deep interest in the possibilities of the Capital Appeal, and for their tangible encouragement through generous gifts.
The study will be undertaken over the next few months, and will involve interviews with key leaders and ministry staff of all of our pastoral charges. The outcome of the study will guide the Presbytery in deciding whether or not to proceed with a Capital Appeal.
On behalf of Halton Presbytery, I thank you for supporting the efforts of the Presbytery in placing this imaginative and strategic project before our congregations, and would ask all of you to be ready to participate in the study by responding positively to the request for interviews. Your wisdom, experience, and insights will be an invaluable guide for us.
Blessings, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
